I first got involved with blues music when we started playing blues covers with Deep in the Top back in high school. My curiosity led me from hits to obscure pre-war recordings and soon I fell in love with the music and its history. When I was 18, "The History of The Blues" by Paul Oliver fell in my hands and I've been reading about this subject ever since.
in 2015 I decided to create a blog with photos, short bios and a timeline of blues history. After almost six years, it has grown into a more developed and complete website. Fans of blues and early jazz music will find things of interest here as this website includes a detailed timeline organized by decade, a photo archive, a (slowly developing...) biography page, a blues/jazz slang dictionary, a filmography/bibliography section and a new department with essays and articles available for reading online or downloading! Oh, and don't forget about the Blues & Jazz History Quiz!
