When I first read about the oceanic pole of inaccessibility, I had this image of swimming up from the bottom of a deep dark sea. Here's what I found at the bottom.

Somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean, Point Nemo stands at least 2.688km from any known island, any house, any man or woman.
